WORK LOCATION: Legal Affairs Administration, 1200 BOUL CHOMEDEY Laval H7V 3Z4
You will primarily act as a legal advisor in contract management specific to construction and project design under the daily authority of the Director of the Project Implementation Office, and administratively reporting to the Deputy Director of the Legal Affairs Department.
More specifically, you will be called to:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, documents related to the bidding process, and issue recommendations to ensure compliance with public procurement rules and municipal laws;
- Collaborate on improving practices by developing contract templates, training, and legal tools primarily in construction law and public contracts for various City departments;
- Advise and provide legal opinions related to compliance with laws, regulations, and various topics to prevent and reduce litigation risks;
- Manage diverse and large-scale files, including disputes or claims within a construction project;
- Conduct legal research and monitor recent developments;
- Support and contribute to the development of the City's legal knowledge.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in law;
- Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar;
- Have six (6) years of relevant experience in construction law, strategic support, project management, or dispute resolution;
- Good knowledge of the municipal environment and legislation applicable to municipalities or public organizations (asset);
- Open and motivated to work on diverse topics;
- Good adaptability and versatility;
- Skilled in expressing and writing clearly, concisely, and precisely;
- Good analytical skills;
- Dynamic and able to work under pressure.
